He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. Psalms 91:1,4
As women, life often calls us to be strong, protecting our families, making difficult decisions, and standing firm in the face of challenges. Sometimes, in response to the pressures around us, we toughen our hearts, striving for independence, self-sufficiency, and control. While resilience is valuable, we must be careful not to move so far in our own strength that we forget the power of relying on God.
There is nothing wrong with being capable and wise, but true security is not found in how much we can carry, it is found in the One who carries us. The world teaches us that strength means never showing weakness, never needing help, and never depending on anyone. But God’s Word reveals a different kind of strengt, the kind that comes through surrender, trust, and abiding under His care.
The truth is, we are not holding everything together. Every breath we take is a gift from God. Every morning we wake up is a sign of His mercy. The weight of our lives is not on our shoulders, it rests in His hands. And when we let go of the exhausting pursuit of being our own refuge, we find something far greater: the deep peace that comes from trusting in His protection.
Today, how can you embrace the femininity God designed you to reflect, not one defined by culture or appearance, but by a heart that trusts in Him? Instead of striving for control, allow God to be your strength. Instead of carrying every burden alone, take refuge in the presence of the One who fights for you, protects you, and holds you close.
